Kosovo President Hashim Thaci accused Serbia of arming the Serbian nationals living in northern regions of Kosovo.

In an interview with “Deutsche Welle”, Thaci said that “

Serbia is trying to implement Russian model in Ukraine.  (Belgrade) is sending civilians, but also uniformed people to the north of Kosovo and is arming Serbs with handguns and other weapons.”

That is being done for Serbs to be prepared for pretended attacks from Albanians. Some municipalities in northern Kosovo are populated mainly by Serbian national, and Pristina has accused Serbia of establishing parallel institution in the region.

Thaci said that there there are also Russian nationals among those who have entered Kosovo territory. “

They (Russians) are closely cooperateing with Belgrade and are training paramilitary units, without uniforms yet

.”

Thaci said he had already informed the European Union on the issue, and criticized Brussels’ stance.

“I have raised that issue also at the EU and their silence is concerning. Such a delay in action has previously happened in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 90-es, such a silence has happened also in Croatia and Kosovo and we have seen the consequences.”

Thaci said that today’s actions undertaken by Belgrade are not different from the previous ones undertaken by the Milloshevic regime.

Kosovo President said Prishtina will consider as occupation and hostile every uniform except the NATO uniform

.

Kosovo declared the independence form Serbia in 2008 and is recognized by over 110 countries, including the U.S., Germany and France, but Belgrade insists the territory belongs to Serbia./tvklan.al
