Opposition leader vows to raise minimum wages

The head of Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, vowed Friday to raise the minimum wages and pensions, once his party achieves the power.

During a meeting Basha held with Albanian business he said that Democratic Party’s economic program aims to tax cuts and create a business friendly climate.

“We will raise the minimum wage to 32 000 ALL ($ 251)… within the first mandate we will raise pensions by 33 per cent and we will lower the retirement age,” he said.

The minimum wage in Albania is 22 000 ALL ($172).

Basha also vowed to review all concessions given by the Socialist party government from 2013 to 2017.

Albania will hold the general elections on June 18, and Lulzim Basha aims to return the Democratic Party to power. /tvklan.al
