Vetting process, Interior Minister meeting with Chief Prosecutor
Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj held a meeting with the chief prosecutor Arta Marku in his office.
This meeting has followed the meeting of Marku with SIS director Helidon Bendo and the German ambassador.
The Xhafaj-Marku meeting lasted about 30 minutes and the main topic discussed was the strengthening of inter-instructional cooperation, with particular focus on the implementation of the Vetting process, the fight against corruption and narcotics trafficking.
Chief Prosecutor Marku emphasized the specific importance of cooperation between the Prosecution and the Ministry of Interior in strengthening security in the country, as well as in meeting the country’s priorities for the European Union integration.
Marku said that she will be maximally engaged in inter-institutional coordination in order to successfully develop important investigations, as well as any criminal proceedings with a high social impact.
Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj guaranteed that the institution he leads, as well as the State Police, will continue strengthening cooperation to increase proactive investigations, with priority the war against corruption./tvklan.al
