INTERPOL declares Gentian Doda wanted
More than two months after the arrest of Judge Shkëlqim Miri, Tirana’s Interpol Office declared Gentian Doda wanted. He is accused of exercising illicit influence, active corruption against prosecutors and judges, as well as preserving forbidden items in prison.
Doda was released from prison in June last year, as a result of Judge Shkëlqim Miri’s decision. He was imprisoned on charges of murder in Burrel city in 1999. Earlier his name was published at all the border crossing points in the country after being declared wanted shortly after the arrest of Judge Miri . In the judge’s apartment, the police found nearly $ 300,000, allegedly paid by Gentian Doda.
Apart from Doda, police has declared wanted Alban Buci, which is said to have transported the money. Kujtim Miri, cousin of Judge Shkëlqim Miri, is arrested for the same issue being investigated by the Serious Crimes Prosecution Office. Judge Miri has appealed the decision to change the security measure because of his health condition but this request was rejected./tvklan.al
