The mandate of the bipartisan commission on electoral reform has closed the first half by holding only 2 meetings. Established in October last year, the commission should close its work by 13 April this year. The on-duty President of the OSCE Presence who points out this fact, asks the parties to consensually continue to work on this important reform.

“Now is the right time to talk, even for a decision on Electoral Reform issues. Not only two months before the next election”.

Even the head of the Socialist Parliamentary Group at a meeting organized by the assembly and the minister for the Diaspora “on the emigrant voting” urges the opposition to return to the special commission for electoral reform, also to enable Albanians living abroad to exercise the right of the vote. The Interior Minister also sees the political will to enable the emigrants’ vote.

“It is a very difficult challenge in the conditions of this artificially tense political climate,”

 Xhafaj said.

Diaspora Minister Pandeli Majko thinks that governance is getting better with the vote of Albanians living abroad.

“It will bring political electoral freshness as well as will increase positive pressure on standards in the country’s governance”,

 Majko said.

The Foreign Minister is also one of the key factors in the immigration registration process, who plead their own details including the address, mainly at the consulates./tvklan.al
