Albania, Croatia and Montenegro found Adriatic Trilateral initiative

Albania, Croatia and Montenegro signed Friday the founding document of Adriatic Trilateral, aimed to strengthen cooperation and partnership between three countries.

The document was signed in Split city, Croatia, by Albanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati, and his Croatian and Montenegrin counterparts respectively Davor Ivo Stier and Srdjan Darmanovic.

 Albanian Foreign Ministry said that the initiative aims to be transformed into a cooperation and promotion platform of regional stability. “The Trilateral Meeting focused on enhanced political dialogue among the countries, discussion on cooperation in the fields of security, economy, infrastructure, transport, environment, tourism and energy, dwelling mainly on the coordination among the three countries so that the implementation of the Adriatic-Ionian pipeline become a priority for the EU countries.”

The ministry also said that on focus of the meeting was also the security dimension of the fight against terrorist threats, in defending our common values and respect for fundamental freedoms and human rights.

Croatia is a EU member state since 2013, while Albania and Montenegro aim to join the EU in coming Years.

On the ther hand, Croatia and Albania are NATO member countries, while Montenegro is awaited to join the alliance in within a short preiod of time. /tvklan.al
