Albanian police smashes prostitution ring
Albanian police smashed a prostitution ring in capital Tirana, arresting 11 people, including a police officer.
The police said Monday in a statement that two girls Ambra I, Anxhela Xh. were arrested accused of recruiting girls of different ages to be used as prostitutes. They face charges of exploitation of prostitution. Under the same charges is arrested also Fllanxe A., a Macedonian citizen.
Four taxi drivers, accused of finding clients and selling drugs were also put behind bars in the scope of the “Free Taxi” coded operation.
Police forces arrested also one of their colleagues, Elton Shterpi, 32-years old, accused of exploitation of prostitution in cooperation and failing to report the crime.
Police said that the clients were paying 50 to 150 Euros in exchange for sex.
Authorities confiscated three taxi cars, 18 mobile phones, about $ 400 cash and four doses of cocaine. /tvklan.al
