Arta Marku “escapes” the Vetting hearing
Chief Interim Prosecutor Arta Marku will undergo vetting process in which her wealth and integrity will be verified. The hearing was held this Tuesday at 10 am.
The Chief Prosecutor Arta Marku has chosen not to be present at the Vetting court hearing, being represented by her lawyer Lirime Cukaj.
Teo Jacobs, the IOM representative in the process, said he was disappointed by Arta Marku’s absence.
He added that he sees Marku’s absence as a bad sign and that she had to be there. Jacobs added that the Chief Prosecutor has taken extreme measures against citizens who break the law and that he wanted to hold a professional debate with her.
The High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets and Conflict of Interests has submitted its report declaring that Marku’s declaration of wealth is accurate, thus she has no concealed wealth.
