Bakoyannis reacts on Albania – Greece maritime agreement
Former Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis demands interpellation with Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias on the new maritime agreement with Albania.
Bakoyannis, which signed the agreement with Albania in 2009, accuses the Greek government of making secret deals with Albania for the Ionian Sea border.
Bakoyannis says the Albanian side will benefit a lot from this agreement, while defending the 2009 agreement between Albania and Greece.
Regarding the maritime pact of 9 years ago, the former Greek Foreign Minister considers it a balanced and beneficial deal for both sides, despite not being implemented due to the blockade by the Constitutional Court of Albania.
It warns that the Greek government’s actions on this issue will become a negative precedent in the future for demarcation in other countries.
“The government is dealing with national issues in an unstable and irrational way”, the deputy and former Minister Bakoyannis said, raising several questions about Nikos Kotzias:
“Why is the government reviewing a balanced agreement for the 2009 marine areas, agreed and signed by Greece and Albania?”
“Which parts of the agreement are planned to be reviewed”?
“Is it true that the government intends to change the Greek stance on determining the boundaries of the maritime areas under the ‘middle line’”?/tvklan.al
