Gramoz Ruçi elected as New Parliament Speaker
Gramoz Ruci will lead the parliament in its 9th legislature, after taking the votes of 80 MPs out of the 12o who participated the voting process.
This indicates that even some democrats voted for Ruçi despite group’s decision to vote against him meanwhile the MPs of Socialist Movement Party boycotted the vote.
After receiving parliamentary approval, the new Speaker of Parliament held his first speech, while the Democratic Opposition left the Assembly Hall. SMI MPs chose to stay in the Assembly hall and hear Ruci’s speech as parliament speaker.
Opposition’s leader Lulzim Basha and his 42 deputies joined the protests of the persecuted in front of the parliament against Ruçi as chairman of this institution.
On Monday, the Assembly will meet again at 10 o’clock to vote for the new government and listen to Socialist Party’s 4-year program.
