MEP Fleckenstein: EU negotiations for Albania, hopefully in June 2018
European Parliament MP Knut Fleckenstein indicated that he hopes that the opening of negotiations for Albania will take place next year.
During a press conference one day after meeting with senior Albanian officials, Fleckenstein informed about the talks he had with them.
He said he was getting the right information about Albania’s journey towards the European Union.
“It is the Council responsible of taking decisions for the negotiations and not the Parliament. We will continue to work and encourage the opening of negotiations and we hope that to happen next year. Albania must continue doing a hard word in this aspect.”
