Parliament dismisses the HCP and HCJ list
Lack of consensus from the opposition prompted the list of 10 shortlisted candidates for the High Council of Prosecution and High Judicial Council to collapse in parliament. For its approval it needed 93 votes, but the opposition, as it had previously stated, voted against the process.
The Constitution stipulates that the Assembly must resume the procedure from the front to the Ad Hoc Subcommittee to select a new list of civil society proposals, advocacy rosters, and troops. The procedure is repeated in the subcommittee not more than twice, and if the list is not approved for the third time, its candidates are considered elected by parliament.
