Pavlopoulos: Albania should respect international and EU laws
Greece supports Albania’s European perspective, but Tirana must fully respect international and European laws, particularly the fundamental human rights, minority rights and property rights.
This is how Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos expressed, during a meeting he had with his Georgian counterpart, Giorgi Margvelashvili.
According to Greek media, Pavlopoulos reiterated that Greece supports Albania on its path to the European Union, but he stressed that “it is a major mistake that the Albanian political leadership supports the alleged rights of some who were alongside the Nazis during German invasion. The desire to become a member of the European Union and reliance on the non-existent rights of Nazi partners does not seem to indicate a serious European perspective. When they have another position, Greece is here to help the neighboring country towards the EU”./tvklan.al
