Supreme Court has declared its incompetence to investigate Alfred Peza’s assets and has passed the case to the Serious Crimes Prosecution Office.

The Supreme Court has given up the examination of this case because Alfred Peza is no longer a Member of Parliament and is not competent to consider it.

Former Socialist Party deputy Alfred Peza is charged with property confiscation and non-declaration of income for 113 milliard ALL  .

In May 2017, the Appeal of Serious Crimes lifted the seizure that was imposed on the assets of the former deputy.

Alfred Peza has stated several months ago that he is being investigated as a journalist and not as a MP, explaining that his assets is legitimate.

Alfred Peza, member of the ruling Socialist Party and member of the parliament (MP), had more than 600,000 euros (643,260 U.S. dollars) in assets registered under his wife’s name. As he couldn’t justify the origin of the assets, prosecutors had requested in May  the money to be confiscated. /tvklan.al
