Thaci hands the flag to the alpinist team eyeing the conquest of Everest
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci handed country’s flag to an alpinist team that will climb on the top of Everest in the coming months.
“I am aware about the risks this expedition presents and will support you in every step”, Thaçi said, as quoted by Kosovo Presidency.
The leader of the group of alpinists, Nazmi Hasanramaj ,said the expedition is dedicated to the state of Kosovo and its message is peace and the promotion of the citizenship.
“The final goal is to raise the Kosovo flag you gave us today on the Everest”, he added. Everest is the highest mountain in the world, 8,848 metër high, and the most risky one to climb.
“For three years we are preparing ourselves. We are continuing the psychological preparations intensively, whereas professionally and spiritually we are prepared for all the challenges, risks and potential sacrifices that may await us there”, said Hasanramaj.
