The Albanian currency stands firm even after interventions
Even though the Bank of Albania continues to intervene in the foreign exchange market, the Albanian currency continues to stand firm against the main currencies: the Euro and the Dollar.
Over the last week, the common European currency has not been able to exceed the 126 ALL level, the same as the one in June when the central bank bought off excess currency.
For experts this situation is related to the inflows of demand for ALL by tourists. Ardian Civici says that if it did not intervene, today the ALL would be even stronger.
But even though the value of the national currency saw an increase, the Albanian tourism offer this year is more expensive.
Economists analyze that the exchange rate will not undergo significant changes by the end of September. If we should expect new balances in this market, the tourist season must be closed first./tvklan.al
