The exchange of experiences of Albanian staff with the National Anticorruption Authority in Italy is also the first cooperation between the two countries in the fight against corruption.

The news comes during the two-day visit of the head of the National Anticorruption Authority of Italy, Raffaelle Cantone, in Albania, where he met with Justice Minister Etilda Gjonaj on Thursday.

At a joint press conference after the meeting, Gjonaj said:

“with Mr. Cantone we came to a first cooperation, which is the exchange of experiences of Albanian staff with the Anti-Corruption Authority in Italy. The Ministry of Justice in the role of the national coordinator is looking to develop the methodology and method of combating corruption as much as possible, so at this moment we are at this stage and we are working on a new 2018-2020 action plan”.

On the other hand, Cantone said:

“Albania is doing much from the point of view of legislative measures and is doing much to the plan of engagement on anti-corruption measures. We as friend nation of Albania think that can give concrete support against this phenomenon”.
